Lloyd Beckmann, Beekeeper

La Mama Theatre presents a Two Blue Cherries & Soulart Production

Lloyd Beckmann, Beekeeper
Devised and performed by Tim Stitz
Devised and directed by Kelly Somes

Lloyd cordially invites you into his granny flat to get some grub, wet your whistle and learn a thing or two about life, the land and beekeeping.

Based on a true story, Lloyd Beckmann, Beekeeper is the tale of a Queensland battler as told through his grandson's eyes. This Green Room nominated, one-man show emerged from conversations between Tim Stitz and his grandfather and traces Lloyd's romance with bees through family history, inheritance and the ripening of age.

Lloyd Beckmann, Beekeeper
transformed La Mama (in its 2010 sell-out, critically acclaimed premiere production) into a granny flat, and completely immersed its audience into Lloyd’s world. The production now returns to La Mama in 2011, as part of a national tour, and has also been selected as part of the VCE Drama playlist. **Bookings highly recommended, as seating is limited!

“Lloyd Beckmann, Beekeeper is everybody’s story… a delightful and absorbing theatrical treat that should not be missed”
